On October 30, 2009, SALEM 1692, an "operatic musical" previewed in the Roasted Bean in Old Town Albuquerque, N.M. The overflow crowd gave the singers, the artistic director, and the composer a "standing O" and dug deep into their own pockets in response to an appeal for cash to help make a premiere in October, 2010, in Albuquerque a reality. We are committed to making that happen.
Bill worked with Previn Hudetz, the composer, literally on the same piano bench polishing the language of the arias, writing new songs, giving continuity to the plot lines. He had already taken Previn's story outline and rendered it using his screenwriting skills into a stage play. He gave dimension to characters, set the tides of inevitability loose in the town of Salem.
Please contact Bill if you want to contribute to the realization of this dream. It's all tax-deductible.
